Description
Buyer will receive when PICKING UPfrom our location in Lenoir, N.C. 28645,
planet Earth, Milky Way Galaxy, third
planet from the sun (can’t miss it!):
The
exact
items as are pictured above, those items being:
* One vintage Bunn Pepsi restaurant heavy-
duty coffee maker in perfect working
condition.
Manufactured by the Bunn-
O-Matic Corporation.
This is model
number VPR.
* Four vintage Maxwell House glass pitchers
which are original to the above item.
Three
are the brown tops for regular coffee, and one
is green top for decaffeinated coffee.
* Three coffee mugs.
Two look to have never
been used.
One looks used but all have been
washed.
* One “Braun” mini coffee grinder, which
is in used / working condition.
Items are in previously used condition with the
following incidentals:
* We do not have the original paperwork or
manual for this item.
However, our research
led us to a free PDF manual which we printed
out and will be included with this item.
* Through experimentation, we have learned
that if you use the cheap filters from the
Dollar Store, then you must use 2 of them
for each brew, unless you like sucking
coffee grounds.
* Our research indicates that there is supposed
to be a stainless steel cover with a ball-like
wooden or plastic knob to cover the water
intake hole when not in use.
THIS ITEM
IS MISSING BUT NOT VITAL TO THE
OPERABILITY OF THIS ITEM.
A creative
coffee connoisseur might find something
laying about the house of the proper size
and repurpose it for said task.
* The MOST IMPORTANT thing about this
item is that it IS NOT
a “plug & play.”
You will need to ensure BEFORE you plug
it in to your outlet that the outlet conforms
to this from the manual:
“The brewer has an attached cordset and requires 2-wire grounded service rated 120 volts ac, 15 amp, single phase, 60 Hz.
‘A’ models require 2-wire, grounded service rated 220 - 240 volts ac, single phase, 50 Hz.”
The above in quotes is directly from the
manufacturer of this item and should be
taken quite seriously to avoid any injury
to yourself, or to your home through
improper outlet usage.
The actual markings on the unit are as
follows:
“120 volts A.C. 2W 1-PH 60 Hertz
Watts 1660.”
This is what you will
need to show the Certified Electrician.
So, here is what you need to do BEFORE
you buy it and come to get it:
1. Select a sturdy spot to put the item (see
measurements in photo).
2. Have a Certified Electrician check the
outlet you are planning to use as compared
with the information in the above
quotations in red.
You may be lucky and
have a Certified Electrician in the family
or as a friend, and so the cost may be
low to have the outlet checked and, if
needed, re-done to conform with the power
needs as listed above in red quotations.
If
you will have to call a Certified Electrician
because you aren’t so lucky, then we
recommend not buying this because the
Certified Electrician will cost you more
than a thousand cups of Starbuck’s Coffee.
3. Buy some Maxwell House coffee to match
with the pitchers. (Make sure to pick up
some decaf as well for your non-schizoid
friends)
The operating / set-up is so simple that
a cave person could do it.
Dig this:
INITIAL SET-UP
1.
Insert an empty funnel into the funnel rails.
2.
Place an empty dispenser under the funnel.
3. Pour three pitchers of tap water into the screened area on top of the brewer.
Allow approximately two minutes between pitchers for water to flow into the tank.
While the third pitcher of water is entering the tank, the tank will fill to capacity and the excess will flow from the spray head, out of the funnel, and into the dispenser.
4. When the flow of water from the funnel stops, connect the brewer to the power source and wait approximately twenty minutes for the water in the tank to heat to the proper temperature.
Some water will drip from the funnel during this time; this is due to expansion and should not occur thereafter.
5.
Pour one pitcher of tap water into the screened area on top of the brewer.
6.
When water has stopped flowing from the funnel, let the water in the tank reheat to the proper temperature.
7. Empty the dispenser.
The brewer is now ready for use in accordance with the coffee brewing instructions below.
COFFEE BREWING
1.

3.
Slide the funnel into the funnel rails.
4.

5.
Pour one pitcher of tap water into the screened area on top of the brewer.
6. When brewing is completed, simply discard the grounds and filter.

Silly Rabbits!
Becky the bottom buck-tooth, bi-focalled, center part with coiled braids & straight- banged beaver is not included because, as you may already be sadly aware, since the year 1969 ended, and along with it, “The Summer of Free Love,” it has been only with the greatest of difficulty to get any beaver around these parts, and so, Becky will be staying here with us.
