Rare Vintage Mongold Top Whorl Drop Spindle *Price DROP*

Description

This is a vintage, hard to find top whorl drop spindle by Dan Mongold of Bozeman, MT who stopped production of these excellent production spindles in the 1990's. This spindle is made of a heavyweight graphite resin and is laser etched with a unique pattern on the top of the whorl. It is in excellent condition and spins beautifully.
The length of the shaft is approximately 10.5 inches long below the whorl. The whorl itself is approximately 3.25 inches in diameter. The hook is well balanced and there are two notches in the whorl. The shaft is engraved with ridges that give excellent grip when spinning and winding. The total weight of this spindle is approximately 2.4 ounces or 68 grams, making it suitable for spinning DK, worsted and bulky weight yarns using a wide variety of fibers.
