A perfect telescope for beginning amateur astronomers, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector is manufactured with the kind of quality you'd expect only to find in much more expensive models. Everyone in the family will enjoy using the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector telescope thanks to its uncomplicated, simple design and high level of performance. The StarBlast 4.5 will give beginning amateur astronomers hour after hour of fun under the stars and also nurture their interest in the night sky, thanks to its exceptional, high-quality optics. In fact, the optics of the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector are so good that it's also a very popular choice for more experienced amateur astronomers looking for a compact and portable telescope to use as a "grab-and-go" alternative to larger, bulkier mounted models that require more setup time and maintenance.
With its 4.5" aperture parabolic primary mirror, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector Telescope will wow the whole family with gorgeous wide-field views of the night sky. Fascinating craters and mountains on the Moon pop out in crisp detail through the pint-sized StarBlast 4.5 Astro Telescope, but the fun doesn't end there. You'll see more than just the Moon with this capable reflector. On clear evenings, the StarBlast 4.5 can provide pleasing views of giant Jupiter with its orbiting moons and Saturn with its stunning rings. Thanks to its precisely crafted, wide-field f/4 reflective optics and significant 4.5" (114mm) aperture, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Telescope can reveal intriguing views of bright galaxies, distant cloudy nebulas, and sparkling star clusters for the whole family to enjoy.
Outfitted with a thorough set of included accessories, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector is one well equipped telescope!
The included Orion EZ Finder II red-dot sight makes aiming the telescope nice and easy.
Following a simple alignment procedure, you can use the EZ Finder II sight to accurately aim the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector Telescope at objects in the sky like the Moon and bright planets. Once aligned with the telescope, just turn on the EZ Finder II and peer through the sight's small circular viewing window so you see the red dot, and move the telescope until the red dot is on the object you want to see. Look in the telescope eyepiece, and the object will be there!
Start stargazing with the 17mm Explorer II eyepiece for medium-power views.
The included 17mm Orion Explorer II eyepiece provides a 26-power view in the StarBlast 4.5 Reflector telescope. The 17mm Explorer II is a great eyepiece to use first when you use the telescope each night, since it provides a larger, less magnified window of night sky for you to view. This lower magnification makes it easy to find interesting objects in the night sky.
Increase magnification for more powerful views with the 6mm Explorer II eyepiece.
After you've scanned the skies with the 17mm Explorer II in the StarBlast 4.5, take a much closer look at interesting objects by swapping out the 17mm ocular with 6mm Explorer II eyepiece to boost magnification from 26x all the way up to 75x. The more powerful view in the 6mm focal length eyepiece makes it easier to see details such as craters and mountains on the Moon, as well as details of bright planets like the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn.
Dial-in celestial details with the smooth adjusting 1.25" rack-and-pinion focuser.
The Orion StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector telescope features a PTFE-lined rack-and-pinion 1.25" focuser built to accept any 1.25"-sized Orion eyepiece or accessory. The smooth focus control makes it easy to dial-in fine details when observing objects in the night sky, whether you're looking at a rocky lunar crater or a wispy nebula. The focuser features two knurled thumbscrews to secure inserted 1.25" eyepieces and accessories in-place.
Built-in base handle makes the StarBlast a great "grab-and-go" telescope
Thanks to the built-in carrying handle on the telescope's pre-assembled base, the StarBlast 4.5 Astro Reflector can be set up quickly and easily. With a total assembled weight of just 13 lbs., the StarBlast 4.5 is delightfully lightweight and sets up easily for fun nights full of astronomical adventures. Its compact size, light weight, and exquisite optics make the StarBlast 4.5 an excellent "grab-and-go" telescope that both beginners and experienced stargazers will appreciate night after night.
