    This is a faithful reproduction of the Bremen version of the Hanseatic cross - the
    Bremisches Hanseatenkreuz
    .
    The German hanseatic towns of Hamburg,
    Lübeck and Bremen approved these medals in 1915 to award to German soldiers "for service in war 1914."  This is inscribed on the reverse of this beautiful two-sided medal which comes with a full size 6-inch German made 30-mm ribbon.
    Seller's note:  This medal is offered elsewhere with a 25mm ribbon, not a German-made 30 mm ribbon which is the standard width.
