Porsche Club of America published a market review for the 968 in this months issue of Panorama.  Pics of the article posted.
Would like to pass this beautiful rare 968 cab on to it's next caretaker.  I need the garage space...  BIN price is firm (I've got at least double the BIN in to the restoration - done for the love of this car, I know not a sound financial decision = your gain).
If you buy an average 968 cab and bring it to the level of this car, y
ou'll spend a great deal more than my BIN. I know this because that is exactly what I have done.  Everything about my 968 was done to a very high level, no corners have been cut anywhere during this restoration.  I get lots of comments every time I take it out...  It's stunning in person!  You will not be disappointed.
Full cosmetic restoration after an incident with a bicyclist that damaged right front fender and broke the windshield. k proper respray (Interior completely removed, lids/glass/top all removed then prepped and resprayed by high end body shop in NC).  I took the car apart (not my first, this was NOT a learning experience for me) and put it back together.
The paint literally looks like glass...  When I wash the car (it's usually just dusty, never really gets dirty - no rain since resto), I hit it with a foam cannon, rinse, hit it again with the foam then wash with 2 bucket system and microfiber mitt.  Never hand dry...  I use a leaf blower to dry the car (micro scratches happen when you hand dry a car after washing).  I used to prep cars for PCA Concours (consistent winner) so, yes I am pretty fanatical about a clean car...
The entire interior was completely removed and redyed in the original colors.  It's perfect!  Dynamat sound deadening installed on floors/doors (the doors close with a thud!). Several convertible top seals (very expensive) were replaced after respray.
Several sun damaged pieces of carpeting were replaced (I used to install carpeting many years ago).  I had a set of custom floor mats made in magenta with light gray binding bc they are NLA from Porsche.
The inside of the windshield was tinted prior to install to protect the dash (factory glass does NOT have a UV coating which is why most dashes in these cars are cracked and warped).  Rear window in soft top is also tinted.  Door windows are not tinted.
Head unit replaced with Porsche CDR 220 with bluetooth (phone and streaming).  The speakers are all circa 1992 but have been refoamed and all work perfect and sound period correct.
Everything on the car works as it should and the AC blows cold.  No dash warning lights!
Headlights have been replaced with HID units (the original lighting is poor and this is a significant upgrade).  The fog lights were replaced with 993 brake cooling ducts and fitted with custom LED fog lights.  Side markers and third brake lights are all LEDs.
RS Barn chassis stiffening brace and M030 sway bars installed. Struts and brakes are stock 968 but have been painted.
18" Porsche Carrera III wheels powder coated gray with new Vredistein (same manufacturer as the collapsable spare in this era of Porsches) tires.  New rotors and pads.  Less than 1k miles on all.
Underside of the car is as clean as the top side.
The list is long and I've surely failed to mention everything.... 1000+ pics of damage and repairs/restoration.
I am very much a perfectionist and this car is as nice as you'll find.  When I lower the top, I make sure there are no kinks in the plastic window and lay a microfiber towel in the fold of the window to protect it.  All work done correctly and put back together by a very knowledgeable Porsche enthusiast.  This is not my first resto.
I have all the parts removed and replaced including the fender that was damaged. Any of the removed parts are available to the buyer at an additional cost (not for sale individually until the car is sold).
    Options:

    454 - Automatic speed control
    490 - Sound system
    494 - Additional amplifier
Paint code: L38A - F9 Amethyst Metallic Pearl
Interior color code VG - Light Gray/Magenta Partial Leather
The two 5 digit codes are for the deviating carpet and seat piping:
13941 - deviating carpet (from Light Gray to Magenta)
13951 - deviating seat piping (from Light Gray to Magenta)
Driven less than 1,000 miles (odo just turned 46k - and the trip odo works bc it has never been reset while the car is/was moving) since completion (summer 2020).
Needs nothing.  Service up to date. Detailed records back to ~2000 (pic attached).  I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car across the country.  Drive it anywhere...
Autocheck says 4 owners; I'm the third owner.  I've had the car titled in NC and now in IL.
Selling only because I need the room for one of my 928 restorations. If it doesn't sell, I have no problem keeping this one.  I love this car; have had 2 968s, 2 944s and 13 928s (have 2 now).
    Sold "as is, where is"
