    Description

One of the few problem-free coins of this year and mint.  Seven total graded at NGC including this coin, with only two in higher grades.  At PCGS only two are graded, one in a higher grade than this coin (AU58).
1775 was the year the American Revolutionary War broke out, not to be confused with 1776, the year of the Declaration of Independence.
These coins and all other Spanish milled gold and silver of Central and South America was accepted as legal tender in the USA until 1857, and even after that at reduced rates at USA post offices for years.
Only 10 other examples besides this coin graded at PCGS and NGC together.  It's a nice portrait and a sort of scarce coin without discernible cleaning, scratches, mounting, bends, or other damage.
